Moffat Hostel: The perfect location for your cycling or hiking club event!
Please contact us by phone or email to discuss your dates for whole hostel stays for 2026 and 2027. We are holding back some 2026 weekend dates for whole-hostel bookings, but for a limited time only!
Moffat Independent Hostel can comfortably accommodate up to 18 guests across seven en-suite bedrooms making us the perfect venue for group bookings. We have hosted all sorts of groups and events including family reunions, micro conferences, English Language courses, outdoor activity groups, yoga retreats and chess competitions! Whilst we recommend a group size of 18 people to allow you enough space to dine together in the dining room, we can accommodate groups of up to 20 people if required. Rates start at £600 per night for groups of up to 18 with an additional charge of £25 per person per night for up to two additional guests.
Our guest rooms are as follows:
- Basic Quad First floor. En suite step-free shower/WC. 2 sets of bunk beds.
- Super Quad First floor. En suite step-free shower/bath/WC. 2 sets of bunk beds.
- Standard King First floor. En suite step-free shower/WC. King sized double bed.
- 2 x Twin Rooms Second Floor. En suite step-free shower/WC. 2 standard singles.
- Standard Quad Second Floor. En suite WC and step-in bath/shower 2 standard singles, one set of bunks beds.
- Railway Wagon Sleeper Car Located in the hostel garden. En suite WC and step-free shower. King sized double bed.

Whilst most groups like to take advantage of the great restaurants in town, or our own self catering kitchen, some groups like to treat themselves to something extra special! We work with a local chef who can provide a fine dining experience, serving up bespoke menus in our dining room for up to 12 people. Get in touch by email if you would like to find out more!

We have flexible accommodation for up to 18 people, bike garages for 18 bikes, a drying room, a self catering kitchen, and plenty of social space in our two cosy lounges. We also offer tried and tested routes for your hikes, your road cycling, and your gravel biking. Get in touch and let’s discuss your plans!
Whole-Hostel Bookings
For a whole-hostel booking guests will have exclusive use of the public areas which include:
- Kitchen: Equipped with 2 x double hot plate hobs, 1 x grill, 1 x fan oven, 2 x microwaves, 1 x fridge, 1 x chest freezer, 1 x dishwasher, a full range of crockery, glassware, cutlery and kitchen utensils
- Dining Room: seats 15 people comfortably and 18 people with a bit of a squeeze!
- Games room with 7-foot pool table. Can seat an additional 12 people for dining.
- Drying room with heated clothes drying racks and places to store and dry boots and equipment.
- Lock-up Garage monitored by CCTV: For the secure storage of bikes, kayaks, etc.
- Bike washing area: Equipped with hosepipe
- Lounge with comfortable seating and a pool table
Note:
- We do not accept dogs or other pets
- We do not accept stag or hen parties
- There can not be excessive noise after 10pm, and no noise at all after midnight.
- There will be members of staff living on site throughout your stay, even for whole-hostel bookings.
